The Group
We’re a friendly group of people, from all walks of life, ranging in age from late thirties to the over seventies
who all have one thing in common – a love of walking.
We walk in Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, the Lake District, Shropshire,
Staffordshire, Wales and Yorkshire and sometimes even further afield on weekend breaks away.
We do flat walks and hilly ones (including mountains), short walks and long ones and sometimes very long ones such as the Gritstone Trail,
the Sandstone Trail and the Mortimer Trail. We walk almost every weekend of the year and, in the summer, on some weekday evenings.
We walk in the sun, wind, rain and snow and say there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes.
We always welcome newcomers of any age.
(Bobble hats need not be worn!)

The Local View The South Cheshire Group
runs a varied and exciting programme of walks, and
lobbies Local Authorities about footpaths and other rights of way. We
are also consulted on countryside issues
especially concerning the implications of planning applications on these
rights of way. Find out
how you can help your local group.
