  The Group

We’re a friendly and sociable group of people, from all walks of life, who all have one thing in common – a love of walking.

We walk almost every weekend of the year, some Thursday mornings and, in the summer, on some weekday evenings.

We always welcome newcomers to come any try our walks and only ask that you wear suitable footwear and clothing and don't mind getting wet or muddy. We walk in the sun, wind, rain and snow and say there’s no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes. (Bobble hats need not be worn!)

  Special Walks, Events and Holidays

There are some special Walks and Events for members that you need to BOOK - check the Events page for more details.

  Walks

The Programme is available for download from the Walks page, along with updates and other useful information  about meeting places, travel, walk grades, what to wear, food and drink ....

  The Local View

The South Cheshire Group runs a varied and exciting programme of walks, and lobbies Local Authorities about footpaths and other rights of way. We are also consulted on countryside issues especially concerning the implications of planning applications on these rights of way.  Find out how you can help your local group.

  The National Landscape

English Woodlands : Save our Forests

The Ramblers provides a national approach to the opening up of the countryside. Visit the site to find out about membership benefits, or how to join.

Ramblers Worldwide and HF Holidays organise excellent walking holidays at home or abroad, and in doing so support the Ramblers.

The Ramblers promotes walking, protects rights of way, campaigns for access to open country and defends the beauty of the countryside.
