The regular walkers in the group, ie, walk with the group twice a month or more; number about 50. The numbers
participating in any walk are 6-8 to 20-24.
We are now in the planning stage for our July - December 2010 Walks Programme and are always looking for new ideas and anybody who wishes
to try their hand at walk leading. We have a nucleus of very experienced leaders who undertake walks and are also prepared to help
anybody who feels as though they might benefit from support on their first outing. All walks are thoroughly reconnoitred beforehand and the venues
are local, Peak District, Snowdonia, Shropshire Hills and many more.
The walks are usually a full day out with stops for coffee/tea and a packed lunch break approximately half way. Saturday and Sunday are the
usual walking days; but in the summer there is often an evening walk on a Thursday from a local pub and is designed to give the opportunity to
socialise.
A recent innovation has been figure of 8 walks which gives people the opportunity to walk on further after lunch if they feel so inclined.
An example of this is the walk from Betws-y-Coed on 20th March 2010. 4 miles leisurely returning to Betws for lunch break and a further
4 miles in the afternoon making the total walk 8 miles moderate.
